Smart-G is an innovative start-up and academic spin-off of the University of Napoli Federico II (Italy), handling within Geotechnical Engineering framework. With the aim to create a solid link between the researcher and commercial world, Smart-G gathers together academic and industrial partners.
Our mission is to develop innovative design techniques and technologies within the geotechnical field, spacing from ordinary to more complex issues.
Our core business is mainly based on the ground improvement engineering expecially to mitigate soil liquefaction hazard and dynamic effects on both soils and structures. Thanks to the solid and wide know-how, resulting from expansive research activities, Smart-G is able to provide innovative geotechnical solutions.
The team is composed by:

Prof ALESSANDRO FLORA, PhD, Eng

Full Professor (Geotechnical Structures and Ground Improvement) at the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering of the University of Napoli Federico II.

Prof EMILIO BILOTTA, PhD, Eng

Associate Professor (Geotechnical Engineering and Tunnels and Underground Structures) at the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering of the University of Napoli Federico II.

Dr GIANLUCA FASANO, PhD, Eng

Doctor of Philosophy in Structural, Geotechnical Engineering and Seismic Risk. Specialist in soil liquefaction risk mitigation and numerical modelling by means of advanced soil constitutive models.

Dr GIUSEPPE ASTUTO, PhD, Eng

Doctor of Philosophy in Structural, Geotechnical Engineering and Seismic Risk. Specialist in soil liquefaction risk mitigation by innovative solutions as Induced Partial Saturation (IPS), unconventional  laboratory and large scale soil testing.
